Saving me spot! Will edit this post after work and add pics. Interesting name for you fly ted... I might vote for it just for that!

edit. Here's my fly, 6.5" or so. I like this fly as you can use it as a surface fly or it sinks quite nicely on a shooting head and has good action as it kind of dances around as it wants to float somewhat. Trout love it too but maybe not this big.

I tried getting other angles but my photography skills suck and this was the best and easiest shot for me. Anyways, SF blend, icelandic sheap, belly hair, and a little plum awesome hair for the gills, also has a rattle.

Here's my submission. Its a version of Blantons sea habit fly. I call it the Split tail Rabbit. I really like the way this fly moves in the water with the rabbit strip body and the split tail. The tail fans in and out on the retrieve which makes for some nice movement also. Its about 4.5" long and tied on a 2/0 gamakatsu jig hook.

Here's a web. site http://escholarship.org/uc/item/2b983749 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://calfish.ucdavis.edu/files/59861.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ucce.ucdavis.edu/datastore/datastoreview/showpage.cfm%3Fusernumber%3D116%26surveynumber%3D2 41&h=353&w=530&sz=31&tbnid=FU47a9rKwQg05M:&tbnh=88&tbnw=132&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dyellow%2Bfin%2Bgobies%2Bpictures&usg=__FUzN8GVGGnQh8uJfVsA59BBPBH4=&ei=nusGTKG2Ooe4NYCK2asJ&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&ved=0CBYQ9QEwAA

that has some pictures and a little history. When i use to be doing a lot of striper fishing at night i would see people with flash lights looking along the edge of the rip-rapped for mudsuckers, they would use a small red worm and a pole and catch these mudsuckers for striper bait. A mudsucker is a very good bait for striper fishing, also the bait shops charge $2.00 each for a live mudsucker. I developed a fly that would work..... a suspended mudsucker.

I used mine on Saturday..... had one fish of about 8lbs follow it and when I had it on a floating shooting head, had one small fish swirl on it. It tracked great both on top and under the water and would leave a beautiful wake on top.

Yeah, no kidding! Not only is it going to be extremely difficult to pick one, it will be equally as difficult trying to figure out when "all or most are in" and it's time to vote.

sorry guys... take me out - let Paul (paulegan81) take my place.

Here's one (super minnow) he tied:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f97/Tggr514/super_minnow_web.jpg

This was lovingly nicknamed the "eganator" by Sturmer. Classic delta chartreuse.

And, NO, this is NOT a clouser minnow. Paul designed this to have a taller profile.

hey Jeff
this is paul
if you bring 5 of those one for you one for your bro and three for me
I will take you guys out for some line-side action.......
that is the best striper fly i have seen in quite a while and I look often.

Better get busy.... cause you probably only have one!

Damn it Paul, you got me on that "one". At least I didn't lose it on the first trip using it like I usually do, then I have to try to remember all the colors/proportions from memory..... Least with the flows this high the snags are harder to find. You should've seen the log my brother hauled in to get his fly back the other day....

I wanted to post a pic of the fly that worked well last night but as Paul hinted, I have the tendency to only tie one at a time, I killed my camera couple weeks ago, and said fly now resides at the bottom of the American..... but if anyone here likes to snorkel, I'll let you know where to look for it?????
