Fished all day Monday on the McCloud, Yellow Stoneflys came off and the fish were all over them. Sight casting to the rises, vicious grabs all day long. Had to leave at 4 to go home to Sac. This was hard to do when you are having a great day. Average fish were 14"-16" with a few to 18". Strong fish in strong current. What a hoot of a day! Started the day nymphing a stonefly and prince nymph, around 11, the fish started rising and we switched over to dry fly fishing.
This made up for the day we fished 2 weeks earlier on Lake Siskiyou and Steve and I both got skunked, and we never get skunked on Siskiyou. Some days the fish gods are not in your favour, and some days they are happy. Going back in 2 weeks for another round.
