Being a member of Granite Bay Flycasters does have benefits other than meeting a good group of people, on occasions I get to fish private water. This weekend on Saturday I was able to fish Greenstone, a community up near Shingle Springs for bass and bluegills. Not sure how it was going to turn out with all this weird weather that we have been having so I expected the worse. What I got was one of the best days of bass and gill fishing. Water temp was 65 degrees and the fish were hungry, no top water action but plenty of subsurface action. Caught most of my fish on a black wiggle tail.

I love those release shots. Here is my favorite. You can see the two powerful thrusts from that big smallie's tail.

Jerry is was my pleasure to watch you catch fish, especially with one of my flies. Time to head to Cameron Park for some top water action. I am going to try and get out there Saturday afternoon til sun down.
