You don't need a boat to fish for bass in ponds.

The closest thing I can get to the delta.. is the forebay in byron. there ssome bass there too but.. theres just so many baitchuckers with no ettiquette out there.

My dad and I passed Paul and Robin on Highway 50 Saturday morning on our way to launch at Discovery Park and fish the American. Since I only got one little schoolie striper, they clearly had the better plan.
