Went to LT today with Brian and friend hooked up with four landed three, four lost it cause the hook broke.

Jay----Did the hook break or did the tippet break? If the former, I'd suggest a stouter hook (...as opposed to a "fine wire" hook). The caveat if you're using really small hooks is that stouter wire may not be avaiable. If and when I use smallish hooks; hook failure is mostly from staightening of the bend.
