Best value for a pedestal base is the Griffin that is around $28.00 new.
Most vises have a standard 3/8" diameter shaft.

Kneedeep, you make some nice woodworking projects, right? How about building your own nice wooden base? Integrate all the features you like to have right at the base of your vise for tying your creative patterns. A nice piece of wood, a labor of love, some finish, spar or varnish and you will have a piece of fly tying gear nearly as unique as a Dormisch-Absi R2.
