Well, I didn't get enough last time so it had to be done again.
Short report: Good weather, great people, fishing good enough to keep me interested, no double-digit fish yet...
Long report: Left Rocklin before the paperboy had visited and drove out through darkness and fog. Met up with a great bunch from SoCal that I had previously only known from FB and here at Kiene's. They were even nice enough to save me a spot in line at the infamous Pelican Point line-up:

Promptly waded out with my ladder, stripped out my line, cast, and fish on!

This is not good. First cast fish usually mean bitter disappointment for the rest of the day. Well, it ended up being less than a fish an hour on average, but I got a GREAT home-cooked camp lunch on shore courtesy of Corky and the gang, some great new beetle pattern ideas, and I was there to witness one of the gang bag his THIRD double digit fish in 3 days (and they still have one full day of fishing left!!).
14 lbs 3 oz!!:

The weather was beautiful - not a good thing I guess as yesterday's rain, snow, and wind rewarded the crew with a couple of 10+ and a 9.x fish.
The "Pyramid" in the fog in the a.m.:

So as the day came to a close and the sun had dipped below the ridge behind me, still pursuing the big dog, I failed in that pursuit, but I did manage my best of the day and got a sweet photo to boot! I really like how it came out - used the timer, flash, and set it on my ladder:

No perspective trickery this time. Just a halfway decent fish to finish of a great day on the water. Maybe I'll get my beast in the fall? I think the time for rainbows is now...
