As we get closer to Lake Davis icing out the feeder creeks on the east side
will be running higher and the rainbows will begin to enter the creeks to spawn. In years past I have seen people poaching the creeks with nets and putting the
fish in a gunny sack. I've seen some of them caught by DFG, in fact one time
a warden was way out in the lake and glassing poachers and came racing in
and made the bust. It would be great if they netted off the creeks so the fish
could not even make it up, and maybe give the mouth of the creek a 50 foot
"no fishing" buffer. The creeks dry up before the fingerlings can make it back to
the lake, but I guess the local animals get to have a little sushi, so good for them.

You can help by calling DFG at 1 888 DFG-CALTIP, there is some decent cell
phone reception up there. These fish belong to all of us and to see people
taking them by way of a net is just plain wrong. Thanks for all your help, this
year Lake Davis is going to fish really well and I hope many of you can get up
there and wet a line.

Jon.
