In the two handed world in Nor Cal Switch rods are very popular.
You can cast them single hand or two hand so they fit lots of situations.
Locally on valley rivers, like the American, you can cast far with two hand casting for Shad, Stripers and Steelhead.
With heavier 7 and 8 weight Switch rods you can wade for Stripers in our valley rivers and the Pacific surf.
With the lighter (#4/5/6) Switch rods you can indicator nymph very effectively with the 10'6" to 11' Switch rods.
Many are swinging streamers deep in larger streams with light Switch rods now too.
Wading on lakes could be good with a Switch rod for casting long with Buggers and Streamers?
