Went to the Yuba a few days ago. Very slow day. Spent 14 hours on the water and ended up with three fish on the day. Two of them were 20+ inches. I've done worse.
Anywhoo.. I had my spey rod with me, but I caught two of the biggest fish while high sticking through a boulder field. Only 15 feet of line out, at the most. Go figure. Most of the day was spent casting 60-80 feet through runs with nothing more than a bump or two and a small fish to show for it.
