I'd like to be able to take my kids out fishing on a regular basis. They've fished before but it has been mostly lake fishing in the Sierras.

I'm looking for a place that offers a reasonably high-probability of catching something from shore (they'll be throwing lures with gear). But, I might let my oldest get started with fly-fishing.

I just want them to have some fun and catch a few fish. I don't want to to fight crowds and its gotta be safe for young ones.

Would Blodgett be a good candidate?

appreciate any input. thanks.

Aside from the fact that the owners of the lake charge an annual fee for fishing rights (used to be $100.00), it's supposed to be a good lake for sunfish and Black Bass. You can actually drive to it and look to see if it would interest you. The last time I saw it, the shoreline was not to overgrown and offered lots of places where anyone could throw bait, lures and or flies. Don't know if they allow tubes or pontoons, tho.

Take a drive out there ask some questions and look it over.... Nothin' to lose.
