Manufacturers want an arm and a leg for these things new. I have a 4 door Ford F-150 with the 5.5' bed so I am limited to what I can use. I am open to all suggestions and ideas also.
Thanks, John.

My dog house. One of the most confortable beds I've ever slept in. It looks like a Yakama storage unit when down. 2 minutes and I'm in the rack. My pillow, down comforter ect all stay inside ready for me to pull over and crash. No more pulling crap out of my truck to make my bed.

The pop-up campers are very popular with fly fishers.

New they are very expensive but if you can use them enough they are probably worth it.

Would be great for those towing a boat.

I believe we have the "4x4" brand in Woodland, CA but I was told some from maybe Colorado had more insulation?

A friend of mine got one new and advised me to get three options for sure:

1) Refrigerator....rather than ice box.

2) Heater....for those cold nights.

3) Screen door on rear.....for a good breeze.

If you are not towing a boat, tent trailers are great too.

I have a Northstar camper. I did lots of shopping and looking (as much as I could here), and I came to the conclusion from talking with other owners that Northstar was the best. I have had mine for about 12 years now. Sure beats sleeping in the bed of my truck.

I think the one in Woodland is called 4-Wheel Camper. They are pricey, but cool, and you can buy them bare and build to suit?
