We were out in the Delta yesterday in the wind and overcast tryin' for these guys. Launched out of Honker Cut, and made the loop around White, Bishop, and Dissapointment Slough. Fished all top-water, got about 10 to come up- but all we landed were a little guy about 8", and then I found one close to dark about 3 lbs (WHEW! thought I was gonna get skunked there, for a bit!).

Anybody else been out in the delta for LMB? Not seeing many reports? PM me if you don't mind sharing.

Trying to strategize for the Bass N Fly - this will be MY first time fishing in it.

Robin, the local ponds seem to be getting active for topwater right now. Hit one with ScottV yesterday and we did okay. Caught all on topwater until afternoon when the cold front really made itself felt. We switched to small trout gear and small streamers looking for crappie, but ended up hammering a bunch more bass.

The game really changes when using a 3wt. There aint no horsing them in and just keeping them out of the weeds is tough. Lots of fun though.

Robin, good to hear you were getting into 'em on top! Any idea what the surface water temps were on the Delta?

temps were about 61-62 degrees yesterday...
