Spent last w/end on Nevada side of the river. River was on the rise and off color. Flows went from 115 to 231 in 2 days. Alot of junk in the water also. My group did manage to move and land some fish in 2 days, but overall it was toughst conditions this group has faced in 5 years.
Bridge abutments at Rosaschi Ranch were covered with stone husks. I guess over 400 total on both sides. Talked to Jim from Chico who was camped out at bridge. He said that they went under bridge at 10pm to check out the skawala emergence and it looked like an invasion force coming in.
As flows stabilize or drop and water clears there should be a few weeks of big fly fishing. Did see bwo's coming off and a few small fish feeding on them in back eddies. Great time to be on E.W. California side has been fishing decently and will also improve.
