Went out to Goose Poop lake and meet up with my good friend JBurge. John has been tying up some sweet Hanley hurled flies and brought me out a couple to try when the weather is more akin to top water. Got in the water around 4:45 not thinking I would even catch a fish, but I got to see my buddy again so that made the trip worth it. To my suprise the water was warm and I was able to get 3 fish to bite my fly. john was unable to get to the fish since all he had with him was a floating line, I was using a Tyoe 3 to get down to the fish. I tried topwater for the first 30 or so minutes be to no avail. Weather was not what one would normally fish in, but I would rather be on the water then at home.

The following pictures tell the story pretty good.

Oh look at the pretty, big, scary looking cloud. I am not afraid!

Hey is that rain coming, who cares I am catching fish, besides it only looks like sprinkles!!!

Here I am kicking as fast as my legs will go, looks like I do not know the difference between a cloud with sprinkles and a cloud with lots of rain, but I still caught fish.

I wouldn't have traded the day for anything, I like the rain, but I did not like the freezing air temp.

Hey Scott,

It's always a good time to get out and fish with a buddy. Your pictures definitely tell the story. Took me half the drive home before my fingers warmed up. And though I got skunked, it never gets old hearing your friends say, "fish on!"

Gene, I had a rain jacket but the real problem was the air temperature. It was freaking cold. I think the bass will not be on the beds for another couple of weeks especially with the cold rain coming next week. I am headed back out Sunday afternoon, this warm spell might make them a little more active before this next series of rain.
