The Yuba County Fish and Game Commission is offering a remote area fishing opportunity along the Yuba River, above the Parks Bar Bridge, the fishing dates are the weekends of April 17&18, May 15&16 and June 5&6, 2010. This fishing event is on the University of Davis Field Extension in Browns Valley; gates will be open at 6 am. This, catch and release, opportunity is limited to approximately 20 anglers per day and will be filled by random draw.

To enter the drawing, send a postcard, showing your name, address and telephone number and the name of a fishing partner, if any, to Commissioner Bill Naylor, 104 Cyrus Dam Drive, Wheatland, Ca. 95692. Be sure and also include the requested fishing dates in order of priority. You will be notified of drawing results. Commissioner Naylor can also be reached at (530) 633-9000.

For your added comfort, the University of Davis has recently added a covered picnic area with tables and barbeques. This area, along with the permanent restroom facility, can easily handle several family gatherings. To access the fishing site: take highway 20, north from Marysville to Peoria Road (about 11/2 mile west of the Parks Bar Bridge). Turn north on Peoria Road, then turn on Scott Forbes Road and follow the signs.
