Snuck out to the South Delta today between storms. Beautiful weather. Mix of sunny and cloudy with little or no wind. Launched at Orwood at first light and fished until 1:30 P.M.
I had long time friends Sean Morrison from Sac. and his brother in law Pat Galligan from North Carolina. Started out slow with some small fish and had a good finish with 11 fish to the boat with a 5# a 6# and a 7#. We were strip'n pink/white and gold/chartreuse clousers on Sage rods loaded with Rio 250 grn. lines. Sean caught a personal best striper (6#) and Pat landed his first ever striper a 7#. At the end of the day Sean caught a small hatchery raised steal head, it must have been lost.
Good weather, Great guys and a few hard fighting spring fish.
