Fishermen are always going to be fishermen...
I, unexpectedly missed a day at work today, due to lingering symptoms of an upper respiratory infection that I knew would keep me from being maximally effective at my job as a physician who, to truly do the job right needs to be 100% or in some cases, better!
As I plotted my day, I knew I could manage to cast for 1-2 hours and retire home to continue recovering to be at my best for what the modern world demands of my performance tomorrow and the next day and the next...
Imagine my surprise when after arriving at Watt Avenue and stringing up my rod and casting for a few minutes I looked upriver and saw one of my icons of flyfishing (and life in general) Chuck Campana.
We exchanged greetings, admiration (?), yes, admiration (!), much information about the local scene and "what we were working on"...
Later, Jeff Putnam arrived to teach and acknowledged us...
We shared the river for but a few brief moments, but they were all so meaningful to me...
