Just wondering what stream flow sites everyone uses? I see some of my buddies calling for river predicitions and what not, I am not able to find that function on the USGS streamflow site.
Are there others out there?
cheers

USGS sites are great. Here's one created by the kayakers -

USGS and CDEC are the one's I look at first. If you dig a little deeper there are some places that offer hydrologic predictions (although they are little more than tea-leaf reading).

I use dreamflows for real time then cdec for releases

Check it out... I like it and it seems accurate enough.

They can tell you the amount of precip and the air temperature for various locations.
Here is a link for the Pinecrest Gage near Strawberry on the Stanislaus River:
http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryF?PCR
Here is a link for the Tiger Creek Gage near Pioneer on the Mokelumne River:
http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryF?TCP
Once you figure out the three letter code for the appropriate gage you can change the end of the URL to the three letter code and then bookmark the site you want.
Here is a link to the list of sites and daily precip amounts:
http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/precip/DLYPCP
They come in handy at work

I don't usually remember the gobbledygook of CDEC URL, so I just go here
http://www.kiene.com/reports/index.htm
click the water I want to fish, then click the link which shows up on the right side. ;)

The predictions you are talking about are on the weather service's river forecast center here (not the USGS):
