fishing?

anyone been out anywhere of late? i have a weekend off finally and its raining and has been raining all week. as much as i want to fish, i dont want to waste gas money, etc to drive to the yuba or putah if its just a foot of visibility, crowds, and no bugs.

so has anyone been out fishing recently? just curious as to some local conditions. considering hitting the american r. this weekend but i try to avoid that with all the meth heads and breakins and such (sad isnt it)

Just got back from the Yuba. A little pre football fun, so to speak.

I had my best morning in quite awhile. Yes, the water is cloudy (maybe 2 feet vis) and, no there were no bugs to speak of. Nor were there any crowds....

However, 4 to hand swinging an olive bugger, the biggest about 14 inches. All in about 2 hours! (for me, this is a banner day)

Fished a mile or so downstream from the bridge.

I'd say go.

Size 12..pretty flat water. As unskilled as I am, a little color in the water seems to help.
