My friend Donna and I floated the Iron Gate Dam to the bridge section of the Upper Klamath with guide Craig Nielson of Shasta Trout last Saturday. It was the second time I have been out with Craig and I remain impressed with his love for fly fishing and seeing to it that his clients have a great day on the water. I managed two nice wild fish to hand and lost a third. Donna got three adults to the boat and several other half pounders.

The only hitch on the day (actually there was another one but this not the place to discuss it) came when Craig got his spare anchor caught in the rocks ( he lost his main anchor a couple of days before) and in the end had to cut the rope so that we could continue fishing. That made for some "creative rowing like hell" to slower water and fancy one hand netting when ever one of us had a fish on.

Craig....if you reading this, I want you to know I really appreciated your efforts to do the guide thing right despite the handycap. It shows a lot of character. We gotta do it again soon. Thanks again for a great day.....Anne
