It's been a month (Thanksgiving Day) since I've been out on the Striper Piper... Sure got colder in that time! Mid-40's in the air, 48 degrees in the water , BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
On the water about 11:30-ish, hazy, breezy, cool. Not many boats out, and the ones that were - were trollers.
Not much bait on the sonar... and not a single bite when we finally ran over to Tower to find some hot coffee and bathrooms [-(.
Our best luck was at the end of the day, around 4:30 or so, right next to some pumps :-$ - that were actually running. Paul picked up a 5 lb'er on a chartreuse/white (surprise, surprise ) minnow pattern, and I found one about the same size on a PINK/white super minnow (tied for me by a fellow club member, thank you Dennis!). Funny thing is, I had just chastised Paul for motoring up to the top of the drift right after I had cast my line out, ruining my retrieve. Well, I caught mine "on the troll":-\"....
So, not a very exciting report... 2 bites, 2 fish, and 2 REALLY COLD fly-fishers at the end of the day!
But, after a month of not getting out there, it was well worth it!
