I aquired this rod from a widow whose late husband was a boo rod builder. I dont know the first thing about bamboo but I could use some extra money. The rod has never seen water and is in new condition. I outfitted it with my cleanest pflueger 1595. This reel hardly has a mark on it and is in remarkable condition.

Feel free to ask questions here on the forum so people can see the Q&As

Please make an offer on this vintage outfit!

No offers? Can anyone place a value on it?

Jay,.... Was the rod built by a builder whose name is one we'd all recognize  I haven't seen many late bamboo rods with the colored anodizing on the reel seat. What's of the rod length and (if known) line weight  you're correct. This rod/reel combo is clean.... Maybe a good buy for someone looking to get into Bamboo. :D :D

I second what D said. If the rod was built by a "name" builder it may have some value and be worth more than $25. If it was built by Joe Schmoe it probably has little value and $25 may be it. The components on the rod indicate to me that it's a Joe Schmoe rod, but it is of course impossible to tell from a few pictures. Given the components I probably would not call it a "vintage" bamboo rod. Need a lot more details in order to establish a reasonable value.

That is one sweet set up Jay.

You almost had me too. I was already typing to settle the question of it's value when that annoying little voice behind my right ear whispered very softly,..............."fishfinder".

D'oh!

Im not sure of the builder. The rod has the word "Wells" inscribed on it and thats all. So I dont think its joe Schmoe, but rather Joe Wells :) It is 9' give or take a couple inches.
