- Get a casting lesson , or go out and practice what you know .
- Go a few miles past West Sac , walk the deepwater channel w/ your 6-9 wt. and floating line , and chuck Poppers at Schoolies .
- Organize your tyin' stuff , pick-up needed goodies @ the flyshop .
- Hit Donner or Sly Park for Mackinaw (yes , they eat flies ....) .
- Tye-up a bunch of leaders for future fishin' , replace old tippet spools .
- Go through your flyboxes , sort , sharpen , fill , clean , etc. .
- Clean and lube your reels , wash , dry , and furniture polish your flyrods .
- Beat-up rubber Trout @ a local Lake .
- Learn a new skill (spinning Deer hair , new knots , build a rod , etc. ).
( Not that anyone here needs me to find activites for them .... I'm just thinkin' out loud to ward off the cabin-nuttys )

I'd like to go beat up some nuclear rubber trout but I'm going to rest the arm a bit. I may tie a few flies as I have some hackle coming. Also I have a couple of rods I'll be wrapping as well.
10 foot float tube rubber trout whackin' 3/4 weight and a 10'8" 7 wt switch.
Hmm, two-hand casting's not as hard on the elbow right? :^)

I love fishing in the rain, it is just the wind I could do without.
I might hit Seco again this Saturday, the fishing should be good since they are planting again this week.

DITTO here Scott.... Love the rain, hate the wind.... But, if I'm desperate enough, I've been known to fish 20+ winds just for that one grab![-o<
I do wish I could be out on the delta this week. BUT, there's this thing that keeps gettin' in the way called W-O-R-K!](*,)

I think 2 handed casting is going to be difficult from a float tube. The lower hand & arm are going to be running into the tube, I would think. Maybe not. Let us know how that works out for you, OK?

I bet the 10'er is for the tube. Great float tube rod length btw.

Doh!
Yep, I'm sure you're correct.
I used a 9" and a 9'6" in my tube and preferred the longer rod for sure. Got rid of the tube and fish from a pram now, like that a whole lot better.

Bingo! Yeah, two hand rod in a tube doesn't work so well, I've tried. :) Now off of a ladder, that's a different story... Gotta build me a nice trunkable ladder with the works.

Really like my Werner aluminum three step with a lean bar, (added some pipe insulation). Light, portable, which is key for moving down the shore a little. Used it on Donner lake too, at the inlet in winter. I don't "love" wind but Pyramid will get you ready for just about anything. I recommend it before a salty trip. Double hauling and cross body casts will stand you in good stead and keep your guide happy, (which is good)!

Nope , it won't hurt at all . I just got back from fishing Stripes and didn't have any issues using the double (the pain returned when I fooled around w/ Ted's single-handed 8 wt. , though ..... it burns like hell now) .
I fried my right elbow in Baja , have to go in next week for X-rays ...... I think if your elbow is really bothering you , you should consult your Doctor .
Don't run it into the ground .... Spring will be here soon !!
