Interesting how some things are deemed to be imperative to the health of the Delta and others aren't....
In the last session of the state legislature, a bill titled "Tidelands and Submerged Lands: Removal of Vessels" by Senator Wolk was enrolled. This bill provided that "....a hulk, derelict, wreck, or parts of a ship, vessel, or other water craft sunk, beached, grounded or floating and allowed to remain in unseaworthy or dilapidated condition....for a period longer than 30 days....is abandoned property...." The bill allowed for seizure and disposal of the property by a commission after providing notice and an opportunity for a hearing to the owner of record. Some portion of the $ proceeds from that activity would help fund the program. :)
Sounds good for the health of the Delta to take these leaky, deteriorating, dangerous hulks from the waterways, Huh
The enrolled bill was vetoed by the Guv on 11/3/09. :\\ :\\
