Just to be clear about Gary's purpose in coming to the GGACC ponds - he's been doing it for years (and well before Kiene's became a dealer in his rods) whenever he has come down to visit family at Thanksgiving . He's not here to peddle rods, but giving everyone a rare chance to try his wide range of models at an ideal place to test drive them. Kiene's is about the only store that has Gary's rods, and anyone who knows Gary would also know he wouldn't come down to take orders to the detriment of Bill Kiene.

So, try 'em at the ponds, buy 'em at Kiene's!

If you have not been to the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco this would be a good excuse to get down there.

It is always fun to see what Gary is doing with rod and line concepts. I have been a fan of his since meeting him at the Fly Fishing Show back when it was still being held at San Rafael. I am the proud owner of three of his creations, and christened my most recent acquisition the 1296-4 STH with four steelhead on the Bulkley in October, 2009.

You can count on me being there to say hello and sample whatever the maestro has up his sleeve, currently!

I can't wait!

I would love to make it down but am heading to my daughter's in Eureka for the holidays. Weathr looks promising for a few ventures to the Smith/Klamath/Trinity?

I have a couple of his rods and really like the sound of the little 3 wt for light steelhead on the Klamath/Trinity and Grand Ronde - need to get somewhere to try it in the near future!!!
