Tied these up using some beads, seal dub, clear cure goo cover.
Im not sure about beads for flies, but- I hear people talking about how great they are... I think they kinda look shitty myself.

Beads are one of the tyers best materials!!! I have a fantastic caddis pupa pattern that uses glass craft beads. Chitty????? I don't think so!!!!

I'm not a fan of glass beads in Tying. They're just a pain in the arse to handle/store.
Like the saltwater patterns. I'm curious about the choice of Peacock Herl in the wing of one of the flies.... Did someone suggest that material choice :?: Looks good but I try avoid that material in saltwater patterns as it seems a bit too easy to be chewed or break off.

Here ya go!!!!!
A very deadly caddis pupa pattern!!!!
The beads are the "hot spots" showing through the dubbing.

Bob a bit curious about the dubbing between the beads; are you tying off after dubbing the bead and retying between the next one? I tried just looping fom one bead to another with the thread and after one fish it got cut and end of fly.
Thanks, Larry

No I don't re-tye between beads. I just continue the thread. But I do throw a half hitch between each bead. I have not had a problem with a fish cutting the thread on the bead. Although durability is a plus, I don't understand why it's a problem when a fish destroys a fly since that means you're catching fish!!! I have an incredible shad fly I tye using a plastic grub that conventional guys use. Absolutely deadly, but you can only catch a couple fish on it before they chew the tail off. I really don't see what the problem is with that! After all I'd much rather catch fish than the alternative!!
No no I have no issue with a fly getting chewed up by a fish, but I do want to have it last more than 1-2 fish as well. I'm kinda bad about only having one or two of a pattern and then my buddy will borrow one of the two. Then my fly gets trashed, and ... I have go break my buddies legs and take my fly back...

Bob:
That's a great looking bug. I'm a beginning tyer so excuse the dumb questions, but the thorax looks like a hackle, but I'm assuming that it is dubbing? Also are there two beads on that bug?

I see what you are saying, but if that is an issue...tie a few more!! Then you can make your buddies beg on bended knee for your extras when they run out!!

What we consider chitty looking is probably the one you want to tie on the end of your line.
