i find it interesting that some rivers like the klamath, russian and even the eel rivers are showing pretty good counts, but the mad is DISMAL. i'm not sure that there has been a single chinook salmon to make it past the 101 bridge. i know there a few cruising around by the mouth but they haven't seem to have made up river. in years past there were 100's if not 1000's of king salmon in the river months earlier at lower flows, but who knows maybe they'll pour in after this next rain.

Interesting indeed.
They claim these fish to be native stock king salmon......balderdash! The Russian produced silvers and steelhead pretty much only.....any kings caught were wandering strays, like any pinks or such that you run across in the American.....STRAYS.
These fish they are reporting on are remnant introduced stock, more than likely relying in the hatchery system for continual propagation. Which is fine.......but let's call a spade a spade.
Sonoma County Water Agency deffinitely wants these "endangered" fish in the river so they can demand the system to be watered.......water which they will then sell off, of course.
And where will they garner this "needed" water?
They are stealing it from the Eel River.....a river that DOES harbor TRUE native stock kings.
Don't ya just love politicians?
