I was wondering what you guys think in regards to the 47 pound Varivas shooting line? I have been using 30 pound Ridge running line, but would like to try a mono style shooting line with my scandi heads "floating & sinking". It would seem that the 47 pound rating would be overkill, but looking at the diameter of the Varivas in 47 pound, it's still a lot thinner than the Ridge in 30 pound, I don't want to get something that is so thin I can hardly hold on to it, thought this may be the way to go? Any thoughts/suggestions? I will be using it with a ACR 1297-4 and 450 grain heads. Would the 36 pound be a better option?

How durable is this stuff?

Thanks!

The Varivas is good stuff. I have reels set up with Varivas , airflo ridge and Monic and I like all three of them. All are durable , shoot great and are easy to handle. I use the 47 pound Varivas and yes it is pretty thin stuff. But not hairthin like some others out there! I use it on lighter setups similar to yours and dont find it overkill at all. If your wanting to try a mono style shooting line I think the Varivas in the 47 is definatly a good option. Its good stuff. Kevin
