With the I-80 construction, fishing the Truckee near the stateline means driving to Verdi NV and turning around to get back to Sac.
Terrible's (the Chevron station/casino/Jack-in-the-Box) at the first Nevada exit has a diner. The diner is surprisingly good. I've eaten there twice -- the fried chicken dinner, hamburgers, and chicken sandwiches are nice and well priced. As a bonus, draft PBR pints are $0.99!
