You are correct. I really like the old school Sages. I already have a 490-4 and 590-4.

After they discontinued the RLP they brought it back in the VPS so if you can find one of those it is the same blank.

The 691-4 RPL or VPS is the same blank as the 690-4 RPL/VPS except it has a full well grip and a short fighting butt.

690-4 has a standard Western grip and wood insert reel set with no fighting butt.
