Putah Creek Trout has submitted a request for a change in the DFG regulations that, if passed, would make from Monticello Dam to Lake Solano a year-round, zero limit, barbless artificial lures only fishery.

Public support of the regulation change is a critical step in the process. We are requesting e-letters of support from the general public, addressed to the Fish and Game Commission and forwarded electronically to the commission during the 45 day public comment period between August 28 and October 12. Please consider completing the online e-letter with your name and address and sending it to FGC through the listed e-mail link. All submissions will be confidential and passed directly to FGC. Do not send duplicates as this could void your submission. Each individual's effort in sending this letter can have an impact on assisting with the approval of this regulation change.

Doing something like this, along with getting the orchard farmer- bought and paid for "University" near by to actually recognize and study the Salmon and Steelhead that "show up" in this watershed and therefore bring about better flows and protections, would be a good thing.

This Tailwater creek that so many of us matured on and now turn our nose up to, can have a great effect on bringing back Salmon and Steelhead in the Sacramento if cards were played right.

But that would mean the University would have to stop diverting water for their Arboretum, and the Farmers would take a water hit...

There are quite a few people and fish that would support this regulation change. Due to heavy fishing pressure over the past few years and the lack of planting this year the fishery is in a state of decline. Please help us protect the fishery for future genterations. Send in a letter of support, it only takes a few minutes;)
