This is one of the best times of the year for fly fishing for everything that has "fins & lips" except the American Shad.
This is the best time for swinging a floating line for Steelhead while the water is still not too cold.
Salmon are coming into the river to spawn.
Good time for LMB too.
Stripers are good.
Trout in the larger streams and lakes turn on too.
Be sure to plan some fishing in the fall before the winter hits and things averagely get tougher with cold water temps.
