how old is the rod and how much has it been fished? what line do you throw on it?

Not Sure what line he uses but I fish this rod a lot. Normally an Airflo Compact Scandi 330 and 10' PolyLeader w/ bout 4' tippet does the trick. I also occasionally fish the 360 but loads too much for me. My $.02
