Hey, anyone fished San Diego Bay for bonefish? What was the experience like? Seems like it 1) isn't anything like the classic experience, and 2) could still be pretty fun.

Bjorn:
Another source of info is the board at

http://www.fliflicker.com/

Most of the efforts seem to be concentrated in the south bay region - below the
Coronado bridge. Some folks target them; most are caught as "by-catch." A
smallish fish. Croakers, halibut, and several types of bass are much more
plentiful. And, IMHO, more fun to catch!
At a "minus" low tide, it is possible to wade along the Coronado side. Lots of grass beds,
so a floating line works best (for me.) Sinking lines are fine from a boat. Although not for me, I see guys around the bridge in float tubes.
Good luck,

bjorn,.... Another website that I forgot to mention is:

www.baytubers.com

This site os mainly bait/gear related but timely. These guys use Tubes/Kayaks to reach the fish thru the surf and in Bays. The fish shown in the slideshow on their homepage'll blow your mind.
