We have reports that Steelhead are already in the lower Klamath and lower Rogue Rivers right now and September is a killer time to be there.
We fish early and late with the sun off the water with lighter rods and smaller flies swinging in the surface film. Mid-day after the sun is on the water you can use a sinktip.
You can drive a lot of the lower Rogue River but only a little of the lower Klamath.
Jet boats are nice on the lower stretches of both of these great rivers.
**We will be up on the lower Klamath this coming Mon/Tues so we will have a report next week.
At our fly shop we have a long history with these rivers.
Our staff member Joe Shirshac has fished the Klamath and Trinity Rivers sense the 1950s.
Our other veteran staff member Chuck Campana has fished the Rogue River for over 40 years too.
