Three of us just got back from 7 days in Wyoming. We were all able to complete the Cutt Slam on our first attempt: http://gf.state.wy.us/services/customers/cuttslam/index.asp I had some trouble getting the first Boneville Cutthroat but was able to pull it off the second day nymphing some pocket water. I had never been to Jackson Hole or Yellowstone before, both of which were complete zoos! The water was way different from anything I am familiar with in California. Most of the streams consisted of very shallow riffles that just went on for miles. We had our best luck in willow lined meadows:

When we found deep holes we could get a few fish:

We saw tons of wildlife including Moose, Antelope, Elk, Grizzly Bear, Mule Deer and Bison:

The scenery was amazing, especially the Tetons:

And then there were the Cutthroat (do it yourself, don't try and steal our FISH!):

I highly recommend trying to accomplish the Cutt Slam to anybody thinking about trying. We had a great time and were able to camp cheaply everywhere we went.

My wife and I completed the Cutt Slam about 5 years ago. This is quite the accomplishment and a lot of fun. I highly suggest that all of you guys come out to Wyoming and try this out.

This means your next challenge is completing the Cal Heritage Trout Program. The California Program is much more challenging but just as rewarding. Be prepared to drive.

Great work on those Cuttys.

We have most of the California Heritage done, we just need to get the Goose Lake Redbands or Eagle Lake fish. Deffinately farther distance between fish here in California. It sure is fun going to those off the wall places to catch native fish.
