Yuba River - Western Aggregates

Not sure if this does have a direct impact on the Lower Yuba, but the State Mining and Geology Board is conducting a hearing today over whether to grant Western Aggregates vested rights to lands adjacent to the river. Environmentalist groups are concerned that granting vested rights would allow Western to bypass environmental regs.

Let's hope this doesn't hurt the river if it goes through. It will be interesting to see what happens.
