I grew up hook and line fishing and noodling in Alameda Creek and its many adjacent gravel quarries (some of which became Quarry Lakes) :(

I saw my first steelhead in that watershed at the age of 7. Little did I know...

and now, THIS is happening!

Please check out the above link. It is quite refreshing in this day and age of 'divide and conquer' and bureaucratic waste... to see a project actually moving along quickly and as intended by its founders!!
