I was in Reno for work from 6/13 -6/17 so I decided to take advantage of it and fish the Nevada side of the Truckee every day :), while I was there.
On my way up I decided to make a quick detour and fish the Little Truckee for a minute. I really did not feel like nymphing so I threw on a hopper since there was no hatch. Fished the bat cave for a little with nothing happening. I went a little upstream from it and caught a nice rainbow. What an awesome start to the trip.

The next morning I went over to East Verdi and caught 5 Lohontans on a PT.

I decided to head back to the same spot that evening and try for some dry action. There was a nice little yellow stone hatch going on. So I threw on the yellow sallie. There were fish rising everywhere, and they were definitely biting. All of them were small, but it was fun. Caught some browns, bows, and lohontans.

This was my view when I got back to the truck, I thought it was worthy of a pic.

Over the next few days I caught fish every time I went out. In the morning the hot fly was a PT or a trout crawdad that is an awesome fly. In the eveing it was the Yellow Sallie. I went behind the Patagonia outlet and caught fish there too.
I did manage one wild rainbow that faught like a much bigger fish, and he was very nice looking as well.

Since I was in the area I decided to hit up Pyramid one last time. Went to Monument and things were very slow. I picked up a few fish stripping a white schlappen bugger trailed by a black, blue bodied beetle. I did manage this pretty fish.

The next morning I met a buddy of mine on the California side of the Truckee. I fished Glenshire right below the bridge. Literally my third cast I picked up this nice rainbow on a green drake nymph.

Right when we were about to leave I put on a hopper for kicks and caught another rainbow in almost the exact spot. Not as nice but I'll take to fish on the Truckee any day.

This was one of the best trips ever and it was a work trip. It does not get any better than that. I did not get skunked one day and that is a rarity for me lately. I can't tell you how happy I was with the outcome of this little trek. It was a trip to remember, and I doubt I'll get that lucky any time soon.
