From the CFFU email group:

I visit friends in Gardnerville, Nevada frequently. At 80 plus I don't venture out in streams lately - slip, slip sliding away and fallen twice trying to wade in and out of flows. But I do drive the 16 miles up to Markleeville on Hiway 88 and take the mineral waters at the state run baths there.
I had a look around at the East Carson towards Hiway 4 while there last week just for old times sake. The first time was in 1943. Those days were hard to beat.
I now discovered that a local river motel and resort has privately planted large (up to 10 lbs.) Susanville hatchery trout in the area between Silver Creek and the confluence of the West Carson some miles below Markleeville. I viewed pictures just taken of some of these monsters so I can vouch for that much after having a chat with the proprietor. The river looked fine.
So for your information I leave this here for your pleasure and luck I hope.
