La Paz - Roosters are king!!!!

One day Terry and I landed about 12 of these average size Roosters.

This is now one of my favorite fish.

They chase down the bait-fish half out of the water like mad men with their comb straight up.

We caught these on 10 weights with new Rio Outbound Tropical Short floaters and Charlie Bisharat's #1/0 Airhead flies by Umpqua.

Some days they didn't seem like they would ever bite a fly and other days they were crazy for them?

Aloha Bill, glad you had a good time down in La Paz. I don't see how you can't. The hotel is nice, the fishing is great. Jay goes the extra mile for the flyguys. I had a wonderful time last year there with my son. We really have fond memories of the light house and those blitzes of small roosters. Did you notice they jump? Of course the big roosters fight like an ulua, and are so unique looking. I agree if you want tons of mahi then go to Loreto, but if you want variety and a very affordable trip, La Paz is hard to beat.
