Fished the American River today for 2 hours with Dave Hunter. He is the Manager of Taylors Market here in Land Park ( the best gourmet market in Sac). He is a Fly Fishing rookie who normaly fishes with conventional gear, not on my boat. We got into them pretty good. We landed 10, had at least 15 on and had 20 or so grabs. I think he will be switching to fly gear for shad from now on. We had a great time even though the river was crowded for a week day. Got most of the fish on the 250 grn. a couple on 300 grn. All on a T.T. Shad Dart in the only color I fish. I have been fishing the A.R. on Wednesdays for just 2 hours the last four weeks and have a 12 fish average,
