Summer is good for fly fishing the Pacific Coast for perch, halibut, rock-fish etc.

When we take our vacations in August to get out of the heat we can go to our cool coast and try some salt water fly fishing.

I think any 9' or longer fly rod from a 6 to 9 weight will work, merely adjust your fly size.

Some are fishing two handed rods in the surf too.

Have a fast sinking line, short heavier than average leader and a Clouser Minnow.

This can be wading the beaches or from a boat along the rock shorelines.

I have fished a lot of salt water but not much here on our coast, especially compared to other on this BB like Ken Hanley and Jay Murakoshi.

This summer it could be way up in Oregon/Washington or down south to LA/San Diego.
