The best average time for trout streams is June but some don't really get going till July.
Again, have a small thermometer in your vest and be sure to take the water temp.
Trout seem to like that 55-65 degree range and are usually more active then and easier to catch on flies.
June will be good on most larger streams like the Upper Sac, McCloud, Pit, Hat Creek and Fall River.
