REMINDER: Bass-n-Fly Delta Fly Fishing Tournament (May 15th)

Hello Fly Anglers!

This is just a reminder that next week on Friday, May 15, 2009, is the 2009 Delta Bass-n-Fly Challenge - fly fishing only bass tournament. Please join us for a fun-filled day at Buckley Cove / Ladds in Stockton, CA. There are numerous sponsors for this tournament and, therefore, there will be some nice sponser give-aways and raffle prizes for contestants. In addition, the top placing teams will win cash prizes too.

Even if you are not going to compete in the tournament, we invite you to join us for the weigh-in ceremony and winners circle starting at 2:00PM. Like last year, it will be a fun-filled afternoon with like-minded crazy fly fisherman abound.

How many boats have signed up?

As of 3 days ago, the count was at 25 teams confirmed for the Bass-n-Fly tournament. I just received three calls from different customers saying that they just sent their registration in today... sooo, we are approaching 30 teams and maybe more by the time May 15th arrives. Also, there are always some teams that just register the day of the tourney...

Either way, it is going to be good'ol Bass fishing fun that day... we hope to see you there!

We're looking forward to an excellent event again this year. Participants are coming from all points of California and beyond. The camraderie is outstanding. The competition is pure fun (with a fair dose of skill and a mighty slice of luck to boot). It's a great way to celebrate such a special fishery and the growth of flyfishing. See you soon!

This is not a big deal to do.......just lots of fun.

If you got a boat and two people who fly fish you should go.

Lots of great prizes too.

Be sure to try to come to the weigh-in even if you can't do the fishing.

We were in it last year and this year. It was fun, start to finish.

It was exciting to see all those big fly caught fish.

May is the top month for top water LMB in the Delta.
