It is top water LMB time in the Delta now

I just got an email with photos from Captain Kevin Doran tonight:

"It's time....6.75# & 5.5#"

KD told me that May is one of his favorite months for top water LMB in the Delta so I think we better get going.

If you want to learn a lot about fly fishing top water LMB you need to get a day or two in the Delta booked with Kevin soon.

Right off the start.... I do not have a pic :mad:
so work is slow and I was sent home at around 8:30
got home fixed the elect motor and headed to Eight mile road.......
The wind was trying to blow the trailer off the road....
Launched anyways....
tried to keep the boat in casting pos... and not hook me or the reeds....
fished for a while. I had got a couple of grabs but was trying to run the pedal when they hit so I missed them..... I putted around trying to find some water out of the wind a bit......
I came up on a point with some calm water and tossed the bug around the hyacinth then came upon a downed tree and tossed the bug right in the middle tug....blurp and then it appeared a huge mouth......:eek:
gulp.. flash turn....OMG!!!
wait wait wait SET!!!!!!
Pull jump splash jump pull.......:fish:

7.75# post spawn bucket mouth on top...........:D:D
after I weighed it it was drying out from the wind and when i set it in the water to get it wet again it jerked out of my hand and cut my thumb....

even if things don't look perfect
