Fishing report -- Kelsey Bass Ranch Lake. Five of us, Tim Landrus, Robert Rountree, Jim Berdan, Rich Wilson and I arrived about 8 AM. The weather was wonderful, hardly any breeze in the morning and a slight breeze in the afternoon, sunny and hot, a little sunburn. But that didn't stop us catching lots of basses. I was using a 6wt rod in the morning and I realized that wasn't strong enough until I switch over to a 8wt rod. those 4 pounds basses really fight hard. Couple of times, I try to reel in the extra line, and slash the line a tiny bit, that was enough to loose the fish. the bass sure have a Bonny mouth. Rich said to his surprise, he caught a couple of huge blue gills - 14 inches long and 2 inches thick. Robert said he caught over 20, Jim's over 15, Rich's over 8 + 2 blue gills, Tim's over 5 and your s truly over 12. Also, we'd lots of short releases. If you want to catch big basses, this is the place.
