Guided E.W. on Nevada side (old Rosaschi Ranch) over weekend. I spend alot of time on this section. It was crowded, over 30 on water including my group of 9. Flows were at 125cfs. We did well with stonefly nymphs, san juan worms, red cj's and small baetis nymphs. If you tie your own put some lead on the san juans. Less lead on line and keeps sj on the bottom.
Sat was warm and sunny. 36 degrees @ bridge at 9:30am and 62 at 5pm. Sunday @ 9am it was 56, at 1pm 43, at 5:30 it was 32 and dropping with wind blowing 30-40. Once I showed beginners how to deal with wind they started to stick some fish. Big baetis hatch in afternoon that couldn't get off water due to wind. No risers. Fish come to top here in cloudy weather.
Didn't catch alot of fish but made up for it in size.
Skawalas are also out. On cloudy days a big olive stimi can raise big fish.
Nevada side of E. W. is about 7 miles of catch and release water. Normally less people out than Ca. side.
I work in Reno Fly Shop on fri. Call if any ?s.
