Well, going to Ak for our annual steelhead extravaganza next week. Should be cold and wet, like it should be. This is the real deal. And to that guy who thinks I have steelhead envy for his Russian River antics............NOT!

Hope you're going to be posting lots of pictures of the ridiculously easy to catch fish you'll likely be catching. Not that any of us here are envious of your going to that God forsaken place that's loaded with only the dumbest of trout and steelhead.

Situk? This is the beginning of the run isn't it? At least it will likely be too cold and wet for the mosquitoes and other biting bugs. I'd take that trade.

Have a great trip, I am envious.
Hope when you get back and post your report nobody trashes your thread.
As to "antics" -- you weren't there.
Don't get eaten by a bear.

....all I can do is laugh. Mr. 3wt is still burning....
Oh and by the way, I met Cal face to face the other day and did my part to put our beef to rest.....
Now Walter, don't go stirring things up, seems like Mr. 3 wt responded with good humor.
I appreciate that you took the opportunity to speak with me after the screening of Rivers of the Lost Coast at the Four Star Theater. I consider our beef put to rest.
Hopefully by next year's steelhead season we will all be comfortable tossing shooting heads elbow to elbow in a line up or trading information about spey casting topics when we happen to meet on the uncrowded runs where spey is appropriate.

Im jealous of you and where you are fishing. I got some on the OP, but where you are going is a special place. Enjoy!
I look forward to fishing with you Cal. Ive seen some of your sweet looking flies and the effect they have on fish. I bust the 7136 ZaXis out on the feather today....no luck, but it was fun. Glad to talk to you face to face bro.

had to postpone for a bit. The winter is holding on tight up there. The river is flowing at 45cfs or something. They need rain, not snow. Once it starts to rain, all that snow will melt and raise the river to a respectable cfs. Then I am going!

I'll be heading up there right after you, I'm watching that weather real close as well. Looking forward to your report and try not to beat them up to much before I hit the river. I don't want to pull on tired fish.
